Dr. Shogan’s Social Media Report: November 13–17, 2023


On November 14, 2023, Archivist of the United States Dr. Colleen Shogan participated the “Preserving Democracy: The Role of the National Archives” panel held by the Baker Institute, a think tank at Rice University. The event was moderated by Rice University professor Douglas Brinkley (far left), and attended by Rice University Vice Provost and University Librarian Sarah Lowman (second from right) and the Fondren Library’s Head of Special Collections Amanda Focke (far right). The panel was supported by the National Archives Foundation, and a recording can be viewed on the Baker Institute’s YouTube channel.



On November 15, 2023, Dr. Shogan (standing, in red dress and black jacket) visited the George Bush Presidential Library.



During her visit, Dr. Shogan toured the permanent and temporary exhibit spaces with Supervisory Museum Curator Jay Patton. Dr. Shogan also signed her name on a wall.



On November 17, Dr. Shogan met with esteemed political scientist and presidential rhetoric scholar Dr. Mary Stuckey. She is a tremendous supporter and user of our presidential libraries.
