This week, Archivist of the United States Dr. Colleen Shogan promoted the National Archives Catalog and NARA’s Road to Revolution exhibit. Road to Revolution is a rotating exhibition series highlighting National Archives records that document major milestones and critical historical context to the American Revolution, the Revolutionary War, and the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.

On July 24, 2024, Dr. Shogan shared this photograph from the Power & Light Exhibit at the National Archives. Power & Light is free and open to the public. The exhibition features more than 200 of Russell Lee’s photographs of coal miners and their families in the form of large-scale prints, projections, and digital interactives from a nationwide survey of housing and medical and community facilities of bituminous coal mining communities. On July 26, 2024 Dr. Shogan promoted the latest addition to NARA’s Highlight to Our Holdings page from the National Archives at St. Louis. The National Archives at St. Louis holds military and civilian federal employee personnel-related records. Some of our most frequently-requested military records include Official Military Personnel Files (OMPF), Individual Deceased Personnel Files (IDPF), Veterans Affairs (VA) Deceased Personnel Claim Files (XC Files), and Selective Service Records.
