On July 17, 2024, Archivist of the United States Dr. Colleen Shogan posted about National History Day on her X account. “I am proud be a part of the National History Day’s 50th Anniversary Honorary Committee,” she wrote. NHD reaches more than half a million students and tens of thousands of teachers each year via its international student history contest and its wide range of teacher professional development programs, curriculum tools, and other educational activities.
