On February 12, 2024, Archivist of the United States Dr. Colleen Shogan met with Congresswoman Celeste Maloy while hosting her friends and family at the National Archives.

Rubenstein, and National Archives Foundation Executive Director Patrick Madden to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the David M. Rubenstein Gallery exhibit with discussion and cake. On February 13, Dr. Shogan hosted some National Park Service rangers and volunteers to the National Archives Building.

On February 14, Dr. Shogan released a statement regarding the February 14 vandalism incident at the National Archives. Dr. Shogan stated, “The National Archives Rotunda is the sanctuary for our nation’s founding documents. They are here for all Americans to view and understand the principles of our nation. We take such vandalism very seriously and we will insist that the perpetrators be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” Read the full press release here.
