On April 29, 2024, Archivist of the United States Dr. Colleen Shogan met with Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and staff from the Louis Armstrong House Museum in her office at the National Archives.
On April 30, 2024, Dr. Shogan welcomed Senator Mike Rounds (R-SD) and his family to the National Archives.
Later that day, Dr. Shogan recorded a podcast with Anthony Eames, Director of Scholarly Initiatives for the Ronald Reagan Institute, regarding the work taking place at the National Archives.
During the visit Dr. Shogan met with the Director of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum Janet Tran.
On May 1st, In honor of #AAPIMonth, Dr. Shogan shared a pocket log used to record brave Japanese American infantrymen, previously confined to internment camps, who were killed during WWII.
On May 1, 2024, Dr. Shogan posted that she is honored to speak at the UC Irvine School of Social Ecology commencement.
