On September 11, 2023, Dr. Colleen Shogan was officially sworn in as the 11th Archivist of the United States by Chief Justice John Roberts.
On September 13, 2023, Dr. Shogan announced Constitution Day activities, which celebrates Constitution Day and Citizenship Day—the day the Founders signed the Constitution in 1787. Dr. Shogan met with the Constitution Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution who honored her with their America 250 Medal.
On September 15, 2023, Dr. Shogan greeted newly naturalized citizens along with the Honorable James E. Boasberg and guest speaker Dr. Eugene Cho at the naturalization ceremony held in the National Archives Rotunda.
On September 15, 2023, Dr. Shogan met with Ambassador Laurent Bili at the French Embassy in Washington, D.C.
