On April 25, 2024, Dr. Shogan had a meeting with the Civil Rights Cold Case Review Board to make the history of civil rights crimes more accessible. She also welcomed former Senator Doug Jones who was responsible for creating the Board.

Activities at NARA locations included educational games and crafts, building and lab tours, community garden planting, and more.
