On January 23, 2024, Archivist of the United States Dr. Colleen Shogan congratulated David Grann, author of Killers of the Flower Moon, on the film’s multiple Oscar nominations. The information in the book relied upon records held at the National Archives at Fort Worth.
That same day, Dr. Shogan encouraged audiences to explore our new Digital Artifacts Collection, now featuring three Presidential Libraries—Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library, John F. Kennedy Presidential Library, and Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library.
On January 24, 2024, Dr. Shogan announced that the National Personnel Record Center (NPRC) has eliminated the 600K backlog of veterans requests for records, which originated during the pandemic. “Congrats to this dedicated team of National Archives staff,” Dr. Shogan said. “I will be in St Louis soon to celebrate with you!” Read more in this press release.
