On October 28, 2024, Archivist of the United States Dr. Colleen Shogan met with Canadian Ambassador Kirsten Hillman in her office at the National Archives in Washington, DC.
That same day, Dr. Shogan marked the anniversary of the unveiling of the Statue of Liberty in 1886. The original deed of gift for the Statue of Liberty can be found in the Records of Rights online exhibit and at the National Archives Building in Washington, DC. National Archives Identifier 595444. On October 29, 2024, Dr. Shogan joined authors Marc Landy and Dennis Hale in the Archivist’s Reception Room at the National Archives in Washington, DC, for a discussion of their book, Keeping the Republic: A Defense of American Constitutionalism.

As part of the National Archives’ Veterans Day celebrations, NARA will host a program on November 13 honoring the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. Joining the discussion are two WWII veterans to share their eyewitness accounts of the battle: Frank Cohn and Harry Miller. The next episode of Inside the Vault will be Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany on November 18.
